A native of Iowa, my family returned to Boone in 1984. I served as a consultant for four years with Heartland AEA (Area Education Agency) and then started my teaching career with Boone schools in 1988 at Franklin Elementary. I earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Iowa State University in 2002. I also earned hours in Leadership and Policy Study and in 2003 became the principal for Page and Bryant elementary schools where I served for several years. I went on to serve in the Middle School as 5th and 6th grade principal and in 2011 went to Central Office as Special Services/Curriculum Director until my retirement in July, 2013. It is now my honor to serve the Boone community as a School Board member.
