What is digital accessibility ?

In basic terms, digital accessibility is the idea that all users should be able to equally use the information and functionality of any digital resources provided by the district for teaching, learning, service, employment, etc.

To be accessible, digital content needs to meet certain standards so that technologies such as screen readers, braille devices, etc. can effectively interpret the content and functionality. We have adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA as the standard for our school district to help us measure and improve our ability to provide equal access to all materials.

Who is responsible for digital accessibility ?

Everyone is responsible to make sure any content they produce, and any online tools they use in the course of their work for the school district meet our accessibility standards.

If you are adding content to a google classroom, website, or directing students to a website or other online application, you need to ensure that content is accessible.
