Title IX

What is Title IX ?

Title IX is a federal law enacted in 1972 to ensure that students and employees are protected from discrimination based on their sex in educational programs and activities. If any part of a school district or college receives any Federal funds for any purpose, all of the operations of the district or college are covered by Title IX.

It covers various aspects of education, from sports to admissions and scholarships. Beyond sports, Title IX also addresses issues like sexual harassment and assault on campuses, requiring schools to take measures to prevent and address these concerns. In essence, Title IX promotes gender equity and safety in our schools, making sure that everyone has an equal chance to learn and thrive in a discrimination-free environment.

Title IX Coordinator

Pursuant to Title IX of the education Amendments of 1972 and the U.S. Department of Education's implementing regulations at 34 C.F.R. Part 106, The School's Title IX Coordinator has primary responsibility for coordinating the school's efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under the Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination in all the operations of this School, as well as retaliation for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege secured by Title IX.
