Franklin Families: We'll be doing a special project for Veteran's Day this year. We'd like to have pictures of any friends or family members connected to our students and families who are veterans or currently serving in the armed forces. We can make copies of photos if you're not comfortable sending the originals to school. Just send them to school or stop by the office and we can make copies. Thanks for your help in celebrating our veterans!

Lost & Found Alert!
Here are some photos of our current lost & found collection. If you're missing anything and recognize it, please have your student grab it from the lost & found table.

Franklin Families: On Monday, we'll begin our character trait focus on responsibility. Students will spend the month of October learning about what it means to be responsible and how they can demonstrate responsibility. The Family Connection Newsletter is attached in hopes that families will have some conversations about what it means to be responsible at home as well as at school.

We ended the week with a character assembly to wrap up our month-long focus on respect. These students were recognized for doing an outstanding job of demonstrating respect for the month!

Congratulations to our students who received Character Strong certificates at lunch on Friday!

Franklin Families: Last week was safety week in BCSD. Franklin students practiced our classroom lockdown procedure, a building evacuation/fire drill and a relocation drill. They did a great job at all three of the drills! Our goal is to practice our emergency procedures so if there was ever an actual emergency situation, our students and staff will be prepared and things will go just like we practiced. We'll continue to practice these drills throughout the year so we're experts!

4th Grade Families:
Our 4th graders will be going on a field trip to Swede Point Park in Madrid on Tuesday, October 8 for an outdoor education day. A lunch note will be coming home today so we can get a count of how many students need a sack lunch from school and how many will be bringing their lunch from home. We're asking that the notes be returned by this Thursday (September 26). Thanks for helping us get a count so our lunchroom staff can have everything ready to go for the field trip.!

Congratulations to our students who received Character Strong certificates at lunch on Friday!

Reminder: Tomorrow is school picture day at Franklin!

The Toreador Food Pantry is open today for anyone who may need some assistance. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
