In an effort to increase my communication within the district and with our community at large, I have started a Vlog. Enjoy the first episode where I explain how I make weather decisions!

Yesterday, our 4th grade students had the opportunity to attend and Iowa State women’s basketball game to watch our student teacher, Ms. Joens play. They did such a great job and were great representatives of our school and the Boone community. We’re very proud of them! Here are a few pictures!

Big thanks to all of the parents who volunteered time and donated prizes for our Harvest Hoedown today! It was a big success and our students had so much fun celebrating their hard work during the first quarter of the school year. Also, big thanks to the elementary PTO for providing the s’mores supplies. They were a big hit! We appreciate all of you!

HUGE thank you to Tamara Law, one of our amazing Franklin parents! She provided a delicious soup lunch for our entire staff today. It was so good and made our Franklin staff feel so appreciated. We have the best families! And not just because of the soup lunch! :) Thank you Tamara!

The Harvest Hoedown is this Friday! Here are a couple of reminders:
* Students should bring costumes to school with them, rather than wear them to school for the whole day. The easier the costume is to put on, the better.
* Bloody or gory costumes will not be allowed for the Harvest Hoedown. Those will have to be saved for home.
* This is a school celebration so fake weapons, even ones that are part of a costume, will not be allowed.
* Please don't send face paint, hairspray, etc. for your student's costume. That will also need to be saved for home.
Thanks to everyone who has signed up to volunteer and sent prizes for the celebration. We're proud of the hard work of our students during the first grading period and we're looking forward to celebrating with them!

We had some special visitors at Franklin today! Big thanks to Greater Iowa Credit Union and Iowa State Athletics for supporting our schools!
