Franklin Elementary

The Harvest Hoedown is this Friday! Here are a couple of reminders: * Students should bring costumes to school with them, rather than wear them to school for the whole day. The easier the costume is to put on, the better. * Bloody or gory costumes will not be allowed for the Harvest Hoedown. Those will have to be saved for home. * This is a school celebration so fake weapons, even ones that are part of a costume, will not be allowed. * Please don't send face paint, hairspray, etc. for your student's costume. That will also need to be saved for home. Thanks to everyone who has signed up to volunteer and sent prizes for the celebration. We're proud of the hard work of our students during the first grading period and we're looking forward to celebrating with them!

We had some special visitors at Franklin today! Big thanks to Greater Iowa Credit Union and Iowa State Athletics for supporting our schools!

Congratulations to our students who received Kid of Character certificates at lunch today! Lots of recognition for hard work, kindness and being good friends. 💚❤️

We're still looking for donations of prizes to use for the Harvest Hoedown. If anyone has gently used books, trinkets, small toys, etc. and would be willing to donate them, we'd really appreciate it. Feel free to just drop them by the Franklin office before next Friday. We're also hearing that Wal-Mart and the dollar stores have some very affordable prize packs that would be great for carnival prizes! :) Big thanks to anyone who's able to donate and help make this a fun event for our Franklin kids!

Happy Friday! As the weather is getting colder, please help your Franklin students make appropriate clothing choices. We had lots of kids wearing shorts yesterday and it was pretty chilly at recess. It looks to be windy and cool again today. As a reminder, we have outside recess unless the wind chill is below zero. If you need assistance with warm clothing, please contact the Franklin office!
