Last week, our district leaders continued to prepare for the 2025-26 school year!

The day started with a “True Colors” personality quiz to help better understand each other’s strengths—especially as we welcome new Director of Student Services Cindy Bassett. 🤝

The team dug into Chapter 4 of Revisiting PLCs, aligning our mission, vision, commitments, and goals with building leadership team meetings. We also focused on supporting our PLC leaders and ensuring consistent practices across buildings.

We began setting district-wide expectations to improve the Profile of a Graduate. We will identify which items are being taught and where throughout the first semester.

We are looking forward to the year ahead and welcoming students back soon! 🙌

They clarified what our district values—collaboration, compassion, enthusiasm, growth mindset, and integrity—look like in action and began building a process to recognize staff who exemplify them.

The group also engaged with a legal expert to strengthen staff support systems and ensure clear, consistent practices across the district.

Our leadership team also took time to reflect on our progress with Professional Learning Communities, assess our culture, and map out next steps in our continuous improvement efforts.

We’re committed to leading with clarity, purpose, and heart as we prepare for the year ahead! 🙌

Congratulations to our Toreador baseball team on qualifying for the 2025 IHSAA Class 3A State Tournament! ⚾️

Their first-round game will be on Monday, July 21, against top seed Wahlert Catholic. The first pitch is at 11:30am at Lewis and Clark Park in Sioux City.

On July 8, district leaders came together to focus on two essential priorities: student safety and academic growth. They reviewed and refined building procedures, scheduled drills, and updated our district crisis plan. ✅ In addition, they conducted a deep dive into district-level academic data, including ISASP, FAST, and Panorama intervention data. These insights will help us shape the work of our Professional Learning Communities and strengthen how we support every learner. Every step we take is designed to better serve our students, staff, and families! 📚
