Bassett brings more than 15 years of experience in education and leadership across Iowa school districts, most recently serving as principal of Gilbert High School.
“I’m honored to join the Boone Community School District and excited to serve in a role that supports the success of all learners," said Bassett. "My passion lies in building systems that help both students and staff thrive, and I look forward to being part of a team that values innovation, care, and community.”
Bassett will officially begin her new role on July 1, 2025.

Our boys track and field team will compete in purple uniforms to raise cancer awareness. Together, the Boone boys and girls teams raised more than $1,900 for Boone County Hospital to support families facing financial challenges during a cancer diagnosis.
