Mrs. Elsner’s 2nd grade class learned about properties of matter and used that knowledge to design a picture frame in the STEM room today!
Mr. Z from the Ericson Public Library stopped by today to tell our classes about the summer reading program! Make sure to ask your student about all of the fun things happening at the library this summer! We hope to have our students doing lots of reading!

4th Grade Parents:
There will be an informational parent/student meeting for incoming 5th grade students on Monday, May 23rd at 5:30 at Boone Middle School. They will go through general policies and procedures for BMS and end with a tour of the building. In addition to this, they will also have an open house in August for parents/students to visit the building before school starts. This will be a great opportunity to help our 4th graders (almost 5th grade) get off to a great start in middle school. All of our 4th graders went over for a tour of BMS on Wednesday but it's great to attend with a family member. Please contact the BMS office with any questions!
2nd grade is headed to Living History Farms today! Please remember to send a sack lunch and a water bottle with your second grade student.

Our 3rd & 4th grade students officially finished their ISASP testing last week! They worked really hard, maintained a positive attitude and gave their best effort! Thanks to our families for making sure students were rested and ready for testing. Big thanks to Mrs. Baker for doing the majority of test coordination, Mrs. Byriel for all of her technology support and Mrs. Newcomb from Boone Middle School for her extra support during testing!
Big thanks to Kona Ice who came and provided all of our teachers and staff with a free shaved ice for Teacher Appreciation Week!
3rd Grade Parents:
Reminder that tomorrow is the Boone County Conservation field trip to Don Williams for all 3rd grade students. Here are a couple of reminders from our 3rd grade teachers:
** The bus leaves at 8:30 so make sure your student is on time to school!
** It's going to be a hot one! Please make sure to send a water bottle with your student. We'll have water jugs so they can refill their water bottles throughout the day.
** Make sure to help your student dress for the weather and use sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc)
** Tennis shoes would be the best footwear. Flip flops/sandals will not work well.
** Students need to bring a sack lunch and drink.
** Please no pop or energy drinks. Water, juice boxes, Gatorade are all great!
We're looking forward to a great day with lots of learning and fun!

Our amazing students and families raised a total of $5,623.39 for the Kids Heart Challenge! The money collected will go to the American Heart Association. Thanks to everyone who donated and/or supported this effort!

Due to the forecast for bad weather, the elementary block party that was scheduled for this Friday has been cancelled. We’re working on rescheduling and will share that date if/when we have it.
Kids Heart Challenge update: We made our goal of raising $5,000! This means that Mr. Hilmer will be getting 3 pies in the face before the end of the year! Thanks to all of our families who helped raise money for a great cause! 💚❤️
