Boone CSD would like to thank all our students, staff, families, and community members for an outstanding year. Here’s to the next one! 🎉

Our Hero Project at the middle school highlights the communication piece of Boone Community School District’s Portrait of a Graduate. Tala Wittrock is one of many students whose communication skills increased as a result of the Hero Project!
"I really enjoyed the project. My mom is my hero because she has always been there for me," said Tala. "I used the project as evidence of communication in my Portrait of a Graduate portfolio. I had to communicate with my hero and listen to their response. I also created a multimedia presentation."
At Boone CSD, we are committed to ensuring students in all grades receive opportunities to grow their communication, civic and global engagement, self-awareness, life-readiness, resilience, and critical thinking/problem-solving skills. Keep an eye out for more of our Portrait of a Graduate highlights!

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Cole Hilsabeck is a 2014 graduate who is currently a police officer with Iowa State University. After graduating high school, Cole attended DMACC for Criminal Justice, graduating in 2016.
Cole shares, "My favorite time at Boone Community Schools was being a part of the Student Council in high school, helping plan all the events, and giving back. One memory that sticks out the clearest is when Student Council Officers created a back-to-school video and stayed up super late filming the video the night before and ordering pizza!"

Our Hero Project at the middle school highlights the communication piece of Boone Community School District’s Portrait of a Graduate. TJ Gonzalez-Fischer is one of many students whose communication skills increased as a result of the Hero Project!
"My hero is my dad because I look up to him and he has all the qualities of a hero. My dad appreciated how genuine this project was," TJ shared. "This was a neat project because I had to use many different things I learned in reading and language arts class."
At Boone CSD, we are committed to ensuring students in all grades receive opportunities to grow their communication, civic and global engagement, self-awareness, life-readiness, resilience, and critical thinking/problem-solving skills. ✨ Get ready for a sprinkle of sweetness! To celebrate Gingerbread House Decorating Day, our 2nd graders at Franklin Elementary will be diving into the holiday spirit by turning gingerbread into extraordinary masterpieces this coming Friday!
📸 Stay tuned to see the magical creations that our students will bring to life!

We are challenging our students and families to a character dare! This month's dare: Gratitude Grams! Create a card or note about a favorite moment you shared (or something you appreciate) with a neighbor or someone nearby. Sign it as a family and deliver.
If delivering the note in person feels uncomfortable, send it by mail or email. Take it to the next level and offer a time to connect for a neighborhood hangout with food and games!
Let's create positivity that echoes throughout our school community!
