Aly is a proud graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, and she most recently served as a teacher in the Southeast Valley School District for two years. 🍎 We’re excited to welcome Kelci Judas to the Boone CSD team! She will serve as a K-2 Talented & Gifted (EXCEL) Teacher for the 2023-24 school year! Kelci most recently taught preschool in the Osage Community School District. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, attending hockey games, and spending quality time with her boyfriend and two cats. “I’m most excited about the new Ledges building and working with so many new teachers at Ledges and Franklin!” says Kecli. 🍏 We’re thrilled to welcome Amanda Bentson to the Boone Community School District! She will serve as a 5/6 Reading Teacher at Boone Middle School for the upcoming school year. Amanda is a graduate of Buena Vista University and most recently served as a 3rd Grade Reading Teacher in Madrid CSD. Amanda is a loving mother and is married, with her children attending Boone Schools. When she's not shaping young minds, Amanda and her family enjoy exploring new caves and kayaking! “I am excited to be back in Boone after working as an associate for 6 years at the middle school, before graduating from Buena Vista!” says Amanda. 🍎 We’re delighted to welcome Beatrice (Bea) Upah to the Boone CSD family! She will serve as a Home School Assistance Program teacher for the 2023-24 school year. Bea is a proud graduate of Iowa State University and previously taught at United Community Schools for five years. For the past two years, Bea has dedicated her time to being a nurturing stay-at-home mom to her four wonderful kids. But that's not all – she's also an avid photography enthusiast in her free time! “I was homeschooled for elementary school and am excited to revisit the world of homeschooling, but as a teacher this time!” says Bea. “I am also excited to lead Makerspace activities for the HSAP enrichment days.” Welcome to the team! 🍏

Through our EDGE program, we provide enriching experiences and opportunities for students in grades PK-12. At the elementary level, students explore careers through guest speakers and authentic projects. In middle school, they actively participate in projects aligned with our local community leaders' needs. By high school, students have access to internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and diverse work-based projects. We aim to empower them for success in their chosen fields. Huge thanks to our business partners for shaping our students' future. Together, we're building a pathway to success for every child. 🙌🌟

August marks the start of Get Ready for Kindergarten Month, and we're gearing up to welcome our incoming class of young learners! We cannot wait to meet our students and families for another year of learning and growth. 🎉

Did you know? BCSD’s new Crossroads Building is set to be completed in fall 2023. Located at the old "weed patch," this facility will house our Futures and Homeschool Assistance Program. It's a space dedicated to fostering growth and providing a supportive learning environment for our students! The Crossroads building also features a 1/2 gym, providing additional activity space for our students to engage in physical fitness and recreation. We are immensely grateful for the support and funding from SAVE dollars that made this project possible. Together, we're investing in creating exceptional spaces for our students' education and wellbeing. ✨

Design a nature-themed scavenger hunt for them! Create a list of items they need to find in the outdoors, such as different types of leaves, rocks, or insects. This activity will help them observe and learn about the natural world around them.
