🎉 Our last 10-year staff member to celebrate at Boone CSD for this year is Jake Doty! Jake is one of our 4th grade teachers at Franklin Elementary. He credits spending time with young students in the classroom for increasing his capacity as an educator and making him a better person. "I'm incredibly fortunate to have been able to spend the last 10 years in the classroom with amazing kids. Kids are hilarious. They're witty. They're helpful and compassionate. They're intelligent and inspiring. They are excellent teachers and frequently offer humbling words and actions," shares Jake. "To current students and those of the past, thank you. Thank you for the laughs and the lessons." Jake's passion for teaching and profound impact on students' lives shine brightly. Good luck to our Boone High School students who qualified for the 2024 Individual State Speech Contest! They will be competing on Saturday, March 9, at ADM High School. Today is International Social Emotional Learning Day! At Boone CSD, we're celebrating the power of SEL and our incredible Character Strong curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to lead to three powerful outcomes of Be Strong, Be Well, Be Kind. 🎉 Join us in celebrating a decade of dedication with Brian Bloem at Boone CSD! Brian is our esteemed Guidance Counselor at Boone High School. "I have loved my time at Boone High School. I have worked with so many wonderful students and staff. I'm truly blessed to be a Toreador," shares Brian. Eighteen students from Boone High School competed at the North Central District FFA Convention on March 2. Members of the Boone A&M FFA Chapter competed in five LDE areas with the following results: ➡️ Chapter Program: 1st Place Gold & Advancing to State Delaney Good, Danielle Goudie & Emma Wiebold ➡️ Parliamentary Procedure: Silver Rating Levi Behn, Jenna Johnson, Braxton Hanson, Ashlyn Lovig & Cooper Naeve ➡️ Ag Issues: Silver Rating Jackson Eickholt, Henderson Gustafson, Wyatt Herrstrom, Ethan Muhlenburg, Gavin Niles, Ethan Ward & Katelyn Walters ➡️ Public Speaking: Silver Rating Josalyn Elmquist ➡️ Chapter Website: Silver Rating Mackenzie Sego & Abigail Shaver The State FFA competitions will be held on April 15 in Ames at Iowa State University, with the top 12 FFA Chapters from across the state competing. It's School Social Work Week, and we're sending a huge thank you to the social workers who advocate for our students' wellbeing every single day. Amanda Jefferson, our school social worker, plays a pivotal role in ensuring our students receive the support they need. We also recognize and thank the AEA social workers who work tirelessly alongside us, strengthening our school community and helping students overcome obstacles to success. 🌟 Join us in celebrating Miles Tungesvik on his remarkable achievement as a National Merit Finalist! Miles is the son of Jaclyn and Mike Tungesvik. His journey is a testament to his dedication and academic excellence. Miles has big dreams ahead as he plans to attend Alabama and pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Miles attended Trinity Schools from PK through 4th grade before continuing his education at Boone CSD from 5th to 12th grade. ✨ Congratulations, Miles! We are proud of you!
